Job summary

AMETEK in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Crystal Lab Technician to support the production of detector-grade germanium crystals. You will grow single-crystal Ge, manage crystal growth equipment, and assist with maintenance and QC in a clean room setting.

The role requires an associate degree, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate and maintain high-purity crystal growth systems.

• Prepare and document zone refined ingots for use in the crystal growth process.
• Maintain records and logbooks on crystals and growth machines.
• Assist in general mechanical and electrical maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in quality control, yield assurance and inventory control.

We are looking for a passionate and driven Crystal Lab Technician to join our team. As a Crystal Lab Technician, you will provide technical support in the production of germanium radiation detectors by growing detector grade, single‑crystal, high‑purity Ge (HPGe). The Crystal Lab Technician will also maintain and troubleshoot crystal growth equipment.
