Robinhood is seeking a Crypto Product Compliance Lead to guide regulatory alignment across the lifecycle of crypto products, partnering with Product, Legal, Risk, and Operations. This role is based in New York and Menlo Park with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

You will lead initiatives reviewing product designs, customer communications, and operational processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and firm policies, while supporting regulatory examinations

Qualifications

• 7+ years in financial services, incl. crypto compliance.
• Experience with brokerage products.
• Awareness of AML, sanctions, and financial crimes in crypto.
• Experience advising on consumer protection.
• Experience advising on DeFi projects.
• Knowledge of MiFID requirements.
• Ability to manage cross-functional projects in regulated environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with global crypto regulatory frameworks including MiCA.
• Curiosity and drive to build compliant crypto products.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product teams and other partners during design, testing, launch, and enhancement of crypto products and services.
• Advise on regulatory requirements and operational processes related to crypto products, including consumer protection, AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance considerations.
• Develop appropriate compliance framework for new products.
• Review product features, customer communications, and marketing materials to support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and firm policies.
• Provide timely guidance to business partners on compliance questions, regulatory developments, and product-related issues.
• Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, filings, and internal compliance reviews, including developing and executing compliance testing and monitoring, related to Robinhood Crypto products.

The Robinhood Crypto Product Compliance team supports Product teams in developing and launching crypto products and services in alignment with regulatory requirements. The team serves as the primary compliance partner for product initiatives, providing guidance on product design, customer communications, and operational processes related to crypto offerings. Team members work closely with Product, Legal, Risk, Marketing, and Operations teams to support compliant product launches and ongoing enhancements. This team plays a key role in helping Robinhood deliver crypto experiences that meet customer needs while maintaining strong regulatory standards!

As Crypto Product Compliance Lead, you will support the development and enhancement of Robinhood’s crypto products and services. You will lead initiatives responsible for reviewing product designs, customer communications, and operational processes to support compliance with applicable regulations and firm policies. The role includes advising teams throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and post-launch enhancements. You will also work closely with Product, Legal, Risk, and Operations partners to support regulatory reviews, examinations, and business initiatives related to crypto products.

This role is based in our New York, NY and Menlo Park, CA offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

• Advise on regulatory requirements and operational processes related to crypto products, including consumer protection, AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance considerations.

• Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, filings, and internal compliance reviews, including developing and executing compliance testing and monitoring, related to Robinhood Crypto products.

What you bring

• Passion for Robinhood’s mission to democratize finance for all and interest in crypto products and financial technology.
• 7+ years of experience in financial services, including experience supporting crypto products within compliance, risk, legal, audit, or operations functions.
• Experience with brokerage products.
• Awareness of anti-money laundering, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance requirements related to crypto products.
• Experience advising on consumer protection requirements.
• Experience advising on DeFi projects.
• Strong understanding of MiFID requirements is required.
• Ability to manage projects and coordinate work across technical and non-technical teams in a regulated environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting compliance guidance to business partners and leadership teams.
• Familiarity with global crypto regulatory frameworks, including MiCA, is a plus.
• Familiarity with traditional brokerage is a plus.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$141,000 — $165,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$124,000 — $145,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$110,000 — $129,000 USD
