Job summary

Independent Software seeks a Cryptanalytic Computer Scientist Level 3 to apply advanced CS, mathematics, and engineering to cryptographic challenges supporting mission-critical operations.

You will design algorithms, create mathematical models, analyze vulnerabilities, and optimize cryptographic processes while contributing to data analytics with Python, Spark, C++, and XKS. A TS SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in computer science, mathematics, or engineering with a focus on cryptography and algorithm development.
• Experience designing, developing, or evaluating mathematical models to solve complex problems.
• Knowledge of cryptographic principles, secure systems, and vulnerability analysis.
• Experience with high-performance computing or optimization techniques.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, C++, Java).
• Solid mathematical background including Calculus and higher mathematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate algorithms to address cryptographic and security problems.
• Develop mathematical models to analyze cryptographic systems and identify vulnerabilities.
• Analyze cryptographic implementations and recommend secure solutions.
• Support development of secure systems to protect sensitive information.
• Contribute to high-performance computing efforts to improve efficiency of cryptographic processes.
• Apply advanced CS and mathematical principles across computing environments.
• Build and maintain data analytics solutions for mission-relevant datasets.
• Develop analytics workflows with Python, Spark, C++, and XKS.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders on secure system design.
• Document approaches, findings, and solutions for technical and non-technical audiences.
