Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer (Starship Launch Systems) to help design, build, and operate cryogenic propellant processing systems for all Starship launch sites, landing sites, test sites, and production facilities. The role focuses on oxygen and methane handling and requires collaboration with operations to ensure reliable, safe systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering and hands-on experience with fluid systems;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with fluid systems (internships qualify)
• Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate systems that support rocket launches and testing
• Perform thermofluid analysis for gaseous and cryogenic fluid systems
• Manage fabrication and installation of fluid systems at launch/test sites
• Develop technologies for production of cryogenic propellants (oxygen and methane)
• Design, build, and commission cryogenic process equipment (air separation, LNG, etc.)
• Perform balance of plant calculations for cryogenic systems
• Lead interdisciplinary engineering projects from concept through activation
• Collaborate with operations to ensure safe, maintainable system designs
