Job summary

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Escondido, CA site to support cryogenic and high-pressure system design and execution. This role involves mechanical calculations such as valve sizing, PSV sizing, pump sizing, pipe stress, and P&ID development, with occasional project management duties and customer interfacing.

The successful candidate will contribute to cryogenic transfer systems and high-pressure gas transfer projects, including trailer loading

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
• Fluid transfer system knowledge (pump selection, pipe flow calculations, relief valve sizing).
• Ability to read and develop P&ID diagrams.
• Familiarity with P&IDs and pump operations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks or similar software.
• Travel up to 25% is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering design for cryogenic and high-pressure systems.
• Meet contractual requirements on schedule and within budget.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Apply engineering design codes for piping and pressure vessels.
• Select components for systems and subsystems.
• Perform thermodynamic and pipe flow calculations.
