Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking an independent, results-oriented technician to provide service, training, and technical support for cryogenic applications, including mobile units. The role requires travel to customer sites, strong communication, and mechanical/welding skills to ensure quality field service.

You will read electrical and plumbing schematics, troubleshoot control systems, and install equipment like bulk tanks and vaporizers, all while adhering to safety and ISO 9000 standards.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma/certification in welding, maintenance, or automotive related.
• 2+ years Tig welding experience, preferably with piping.
• 2+ years mechanical experience in industrial maintenance or heavy equipment repair.
• Excellent communication skills for customer interactions.
• Ability to read electrical and plumbing schematics.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and JD Edwards.
• Basic understanding of Industrial Controls and PLCs is a plus.
• Basic understanding of cryogenic liquids and thermodynamics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and continuous quality service to the customer by phone or site visits.
• Work with manager on customer communication.
• Maintain tools and test equipment used for commissioning/service.
• Coordinate contact with all levels of supervision.
• Troubleshoot control systems.
• Read and understand electrical/plumbing schematics and use troubleshooting tools.
• Coordinate, perform and report testing results per instructions.
• Adhere to contractual service agreements per directives.
• Perform quality tests as instructed to ensure product quality.
• Weld using MIG and/or TIG in field conditions.
• Install equipment including bulk tanks, pipe, vaporizers, skids, dosers, etc.
• Observe ISO 9000 standards.
