Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking an experienced Crusher Operator to operate and maintain heavy machinery used to process aggregates.

The role requires performing routine maintenance, adjustments, and safety practices, with strong teamwork and communication on a fast-paced site. Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, 5 years in crushing/mining preferred, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum two years heavy equipment experience; five years crushing/mining or related industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices required.
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of product loading trailers, plants, transports, scales preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a team.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Adherence to Drug Free Workplace protocols.
• Must be willing to travel to other work sites.

Responsibilities

• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
• Perform daily adjustments to optimize performance and safe operation.

• Complete daily paperwork including regulatory compliance and pre-operation inspections.
• Listen for unusual noises or indications of potential issues.

Responsibilities:

• The Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to operate and perform servicing and maintenance or refer issues to supervision as required.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
• Perform daily adjustments as directed to equipment settings to optimize performance and safe operation.
• Responsible for general and specific safety practices, following company safety procedures and complying with all necessary contractor and regulatory standards.
• Maintain strong communications with team to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
• Assist team with any repairs or maintenance activities.
• Complete all necessary daily paperwork including but not limited to regulatory compliance and pre-operation inspections.
• Listen for unusual noise or indications for potential issues.
• Perform all assigned and required training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
