Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a skilled Crusher Mechanic to join our crushing operations team. This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting crushing and screening equipment to maximize uptime and safety in outdoor environments.

Ideal candidates have experience with heavy industrial equipment, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and mechanical power transmission, and they will work with operators and supervisors to prioritize maintenance and keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing crushing, screening, or heavy industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, conveyors, bearings, and mechanical power transmission components.
• Ability to interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on crushers, conveyors, screens, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Inspect equipment daily to identify wear or failures and recommend corrective action.
• Replace and repair bearings, belts, rollers, motors, pulleys, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist operators with machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety policies.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to support production.
• Collaborate with supervisors and operations to prioritize maintenance.
• Follow all applicable safety regulations.
