Chesapeake Shipbuilding Corp. is seeking a Steel Erector to join our shipbuilding team in Salisbury, MD. You will help build the structural backbone of our cruise ships, performing tack welding, aligning components, and erecting frames and stiffening members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Stick Welder with a focus on tack welding.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in welding work.

Responsibilities

• Perform tack welding to secure components prior to full welding.
• Ensure accurate alignment of workpieces per blueprint specifications.
• Erect frames, beams, longitudinal and stiffening members for cruise ship structures.
• Install structural outfitting items, doors, ladders, foundations.
• Operate welding equipment safely and in accordance with procedures.
