Job summary

CreditSights, a Fitch Group company, is seeking a Product Owner based in New York City to lead the product lifecycle from ideation to launch. You’ll partner with the Product Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver valuable features and ensure a strong user experience.

You will drive backlog management, write user stories, and guide the team through agile ceremonies and UAT. A data‑driven mindset and strong communication are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years in product management, product development, or related role.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira/Trello, APIs, and how systems integrate. AI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing the product roadmap aligned with business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog reflecting current priorities.
  • Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for development.
  • Run agile ceremonies: backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Conduct UAT to verify stories meet done criteria and acceptance criteria.
  • Discuss features with customers focusing on usability and time-to-value.
  • Prototype features with design and engineering and validate with end users.

About the Team

CreditSights is searching for a Product Owner who will play a crucial role in the development and success of our product offerings. This role involves working closely with the Product Manager and cross‑functional teams to drive the product lifecycle from ideation to launch. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of product management principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Product Development: Assist in the development and execution of the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it is up‑to‑date and reflects the current business priorities.
  • User Stories: Develop detailed user stories and establish acceptance criteria to ensure stories are ready for development.
  • Agile Ceremonies: Run agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Feature Validation: Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that stories meet the definition of done and acceptance criteria.
  • Customer Interaction: Discuss features with customers, focusing on usability, time to value, feature completeness, and the overall user journey.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with engineering and design to prototype features, conduct A/B testing, and validate designs with end users.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle issues with current features and provide solutions based on customer feedback.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze product performance metrics e.g. team productivity, product adoption, feature performance. This role would focus on collection, analysis, and reporting as well as implementing improvements at the squad level.

You May be a Good Fit if:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in product management, product development, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, experience with product management tools (e.g.,Jira, Trello), basic understanding of software development, and working knowledge of APIs and how systems integrate. Experience with AI technologies is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make data‑driven decisions e.g. familiarity with performance metrics like DORA.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer‑Centric: Passion for understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in financial information services industry, familiarity with UX/UI principles and design thinking, and experience working with remote teams.

FOR NEW YORK ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $120,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job‑related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long‑term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
