Job summary

Bedford County Public Schools in Bedford, Virginia seeks a Crossing Guard for morning and afternoon shifts to help ensure the safety of students and the community around school entrances and traffic flow. The role runs from 7:00am-9:00am and 2:00pm-4:00pm as a part-time position.

Note:This position is for a crossing guard at Thomas Jefferson Elementary and Liberty High School each morning and afternoon.

Payable hours are from 7:00am-9:00am & 2:00pm-4:00pm.

Job Summary

Position serves to insure the safety of students, faculty, staff and citizens relating to the flow of vehicle traffic at the school.

Essential Duties

• Direct vehicle traffic and insure the safe arrival and departure of all students and citizens.


• Perform such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.


• Training required and will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications
