Cell Press is seeking a Cross-Journal Editor for the Life and Medical Science Portfolio to engage with editors and authors across our journals and help publish cutting-edge research. This full-time editorial role involves guiding the peer review process and contributing to cross-journal initiatives, with a preference for candidates near our Massachusetts office.

A Ph.D. in life or medical sciences is required, and the ideal candidate will distill complex concepts, communicate clearly, and thrive

• Ph.D. in a life or medical sciences discipline.
• Ability to distill complex concepts and communicate them.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Assessing submitted papers and overseeing the peer review and editorial process.
• Guiding authors through publishing processes.
• Supporting authors’ publishing decisions related to transfer between journals.
• Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond.
• Establishing relationships with researchers and representing Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions.
• Improving on the editorial process for editors and reviewers.
• Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication.
