Job summary

LKQ Corporation is seeking a skilled CDL Class A driver to join our logistics team. This role involves long-distance transportation between locations, warehouses, wholesalers, and drop boxes while ensuring product integrity and accurate paperwork.

Candidates must have a minimum 3+ years of driving/warehouse experience, be DOT compliant, and be at least 21 years old. The job requires readiness for extensive travel and adherence to safety standards. Benefits include health coverage and PTO.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Drive truck to transfer product between locations and drop boxes over long distances.
  • Operate within state/province lines as needed and ensure product integrity.
  • Load/unload and verify parts with receiving signatures.
  • Maintain paperwork and manifests; process returns and credits as required.
  • Participate in safety programs and annual training.

Essential Job Duties
  • Drive truck to transfer product between locations, wholesaler and drop box locations in outlying markets. Transportation of product is usually made over long distances via interstate/inter-province, crossing state/province lines.
  • Driver may operate within state/province lines, but product continues to travel outside state/province lines once delivered to the location.
  • Pickup truck at the warehouse/cross dock and may load truck according to safety standards and to ensure product integrity.
  • Verify the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the delivery.
  • Drive to the destination and may physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain signature of receiving location confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location.
  • Make proper notations on the manifest or provide credit memos on parts being returned to the locations, wholesalers and drop boxes.
  • Pick up stock purchase orders or buy out purchase orders from vendors on vendor "fill in" purchase orders and bring parts back to the location.
  • Complete check‑in process when returning to the location to verify parts and paperwork.
  • Turn in paperwork after check‑in.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and support the continual improvement of LKQ\'s quality improvement program.
  • Pass random drug testing as required.
  • Successful completion of annual training as assigned.
  • Operate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of related experience required; Still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
  • 2+ years of commercial driving and warehouse related experience.
  • Accredited commercial driving school certificate.
  • CDL Class A license (EZ Driver license for Canada).
  • Must be fully DOT qualified, possess a valid\'s driver's license with the proper endorsement for driving a commercial vehicle of at least 10,001 lbs. or greater, and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as Department of Transportation (\"DOT\") and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (\"FMCSA\") regulations.
Preferred Requirements
  • Forklift certified preferable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.
  • Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Decisions generally affect one's own job or assigned functional area.
  • Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager.
  • Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to drive a vehicle most of the time. Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time); use hands to operate machinery. May need to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust. May occasionally wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. May need to work in cramped spaces that could require getting into awkward positions. May be exposed to extreme temperatures, extreme lighting, and high noise levels. Daily travel will be required by drivers making deliveries and extensive overnight travel may be required Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
