Job summary
Higley Unified School District is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach at Higley High School in Gilbert, AZ. The role supports the district's athletics program, supervises and instructs runners, and requires after-school practices and games.
Knowledge of AIA bylaws and fundraising support are expected, with strong communication among staff, students and parents. The ideal candidate holds appropriate Arizona teacher or coaching credentials, NFHS certification, and a valid IVP fingerprint
Qualifications
- Must hold valid Arizona Teacher Certification with approved area/endorsement as needed for position or Arizona Coaching Certificate, or have completed NFHS Level I Certification (Fundamentals of Coaching – First Aid/CPR – Sport Specific course).
- Experience with the sport (coaching and playing).
- Great communication skills.
- NFHS Certificate
- No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Responsibilities
- Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
- Supervises and instructs sport activities.
- Stay after school for practice and games.
- Abide by AIA Bylaws and promote the sport.
- Assist in fundraising for the program.
- Communicate with staff, students and parents.
