Job summary

Stephenson Service Company in Lena, IL is seeking a Crops Associate to develop customers through marketing crop inputs and services, including soils work and seed programs. The role offers full-time employment with a salary range based on experience.

Responsibilities include assisting Crop Specialists, conducting soil sampling, delivering value-added seed proposals, and maintaining sales records while promoting credit programs and timely delivery. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or university in agriculture or business; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Must maintain a current valid Driver’s License that includes a CDL endorsement with appropriate classifications.
• Must have Illinois Dept. of Agriculture issued license and Illinois Applicators License as required.
• Travel within the trade area with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Assists Crop Specialists in day-to-day duties.
• Completes soil sampling and crop scouting and prepares analysis reports.
• Assists with seed sales strategies and price programs to generate profits.
• Supports seed sorting, treatment and delivery operations for timely distribution.
• Creates and manages whole-farm proposals with value-added seed products and recommendations.
