Job summary

Essentia Virginia Hospital seeks a certified registered nurse anesthetist to administer anesthesia across the operating room and obstetric settings. You will work in a rural practice directed during the 7am-3pm shift and handle on-call duties with a 1:6 call cycle.

The role includes obstetric anesthesia, intrathecal and epidural blocks, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The position offers a competitive compensation package with a $100,000 signing bonus tied to a five-year

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Minnesota and Wisconsin (or eligible)
• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
• Certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists or awaiting certification
• Ability to perform under pressure and in emergent situations

Responsibilities

• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia in OR and OB settings
• Manage patient care across age groups in multiple units
• Participate in OB blocks and intrathecal/epidural procedures
• Support a rural anesthesia practice with daytime schedule and on-call duties (1:6)
• Provide training for blocks and assist with diverse surgical cases

$100,000 Signing Bonus tied to 5 years of employment!Administers anesthesia to patients of all ages in the operating room, delivery room, and provides other related services as needed in other patient care areas according to Medical Center policies and procedures. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.Rural Anesthesia Practice that is medically directed during the 7am-3pm shift. On call, you have the opportunity to work independently.6 OR suites in the main OR and 1 on the OB unit for C-sectionsSalaried 8-hour day shift.Call Mon-Fri. 3:30pm to 7am; weekend call is Fri, Sat, Sun. Call is approximately 1:6. We have a 20-min call back window; if you live outside this a call room is provided.We provide intrathecals or epidural blocks for OB. We do approximately 225 deliveries / year. Training for blocks is available.Surgical schedule includes general, ortho, GYN/OB, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, pediatric and general casesJOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: 1. Graduated from an accredited school of nursing 2. Graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia Licensure/Credentials: 1. Current license in the state of Minnesota and Wisconsin (Wisconsin can be obtained after hire) 2. Certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists or has graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia and is awaiting initial certification. Must pass certification exam within 12 months of graduation. 3. Re-certified on biannual basis by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Mental Requirements: 1. Knowledge of current principles and methods of general, regional and local anesthetics 2.
