Job summary

LifeLinc Anesthesia is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for our UroCenter Memphis facility. The position offers a competitive annual salary of $180,000, with a schedule of 4–8 hour shifts Monday to Thursday, no nights, weekends, or call required. The CRNA will be responsible for the complete anesthesia care process, including assessments, management, and recovery of patients.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing and a CRNA program accredited by AANA.

In addition to routine clinical duties as a staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), responsibilities include all quality initiatives and proactively promoting high quality, cost‑effective anesthetic care by leading interactions with hospital medical staff and administration.

About the Facility

The UroCenter has two fully equipped cystoscopy suites with video‑enhanced endoscopy and fluoroscopic imaging. The facility performs the full range of minimally invasive urological procedures in these suites, including prostate and bladder tumor resections, laser stone ablation, relief of urinary blockage from the kidney or bladder, and diagnostic procedures for the evaluation and treatment of hematuria, chronic urinary tract infections and interstitial cystitis. The operative suite allows additional outpatient urologic procedures. Ultrasound‑guided biopsy of the prostate is facilitated with moderate sedation for a painless experience. Circumcisions, vasectomy, ligation of varicose veins in the scrotum and removal of scrotal masses are common procedures. Additionally, cystocele, rectocele and bladder neck suspension for stress incontinence are performed. A binocular microscope is available for vasectomy reversal and sperm retrieval for assisted reproductive procedures. Interstim neuromodulation implants are offered for symptoms of overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis or chronic urinary retention.

Schedule
  • 4–8 hour shifts per week (Monday through Thursday, 7am to 3pm)
  • No nights, weekends, or call
  • Optional coverage on two or more Fridays when extra coverage is needed

Administrative Duties
  • Function as a collaborator and team member to accomplish applicable goals and functions of LifeLinc
  • Develop standards for continuity of care and case management
  • Remain cognizant of rules and regulation pertaining to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and remain compliant at a local, state, and federal level
Clinical Duties
  • Perform and document a pre‑anesthetic assessment and evaluation, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies; selecting, obtaining, ordering, or administering pre‑anesthetic medications and fluids; and obtaining informed consent for anesthesia
  • Perform conscious sedation/MAC anesthesia on outpatient and inpatient cases
  • Manage a patient’s airway
  • Manage emergence and recovery from anesthesia
  • Release or discharge patients from a post‑anesthesia care area, and provide post‑anesthesia follow‑up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications
  • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques
  • Additional nurse anesthesia responsibilities within the expertise of the individual CRNA

  • Work with peers to obtain required information on a timely basis and solve outstanding issues as appropriate
  • Promote and contribute positively to teamwork by assisting coworkers, contributing ideas, and solving problems with co‑workers

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Computer Skills

Qualifications

The Nurse Anesthetist shall be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and a graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. The CRNA must have successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor's certification.
