Job summary

Washington Gastroenterology is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for an ambulatory surgery center in Tacoma, WA. This per diem role involves anesthesia for endoscopy procedures and patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, anesthesia administration, monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery support. Requires WA APRN license, NBCRNA, ACLS/BLS, and 1+ year outpatient experience; strong independent work and teamwork skills are

Qualifications

  • BSN required with master’s in nurse anesthesia.
  • Active NBCRNA certification and WA APRN license.
  • ACLS/BLS current and outpatient anesthesia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre, intra, and post-anesthesia care for procedures.
  • Assess patient, plan anesthesia, and monitor during procedures.
  • Ensure safe airway management and postoperative recovery.
  • Maintain documentation and manage supplies.

WAGI is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our endoscopy ambulatory surgery center in a Per Diem role. The (CRNA) is responsible for patient care before, during, and after a procedure by performing a patient assessment, preparing the patient for anesthesia, administering and maintaining the anesthesia to ensure proper sedation and pain management, overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia and caring for the patient's immediate post-operative needs.

Responsibilities
  • Performs patient assessment for planned anesthesia treatment, reviews patient medical records and conditions
  • Communicates with patient regarding anesthetic plan and answers any patient questions or concerns
  • May prepare patient IV and set up monitoring devices to check blood pressure, pulse and oxygen saturation of the patient during the procedure
  • Monitors patient's status throughout the procedure and adjusts the medications accordingly
  • Assists nursing staff during patient recovery, assessing for adverse effects to anesthesia care
  • Responds to patient emergency using standard procedures for maintaining patient airway, emergency drug and fluid management, and any life support measures needed
  • Responsible for other aspects such as patient record management and restocking carts and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Nursing
  • Master's Degree or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Nurse Anesthetist
  • Current NBCRNA Certification
  • Current ACLS and BLS Certifications
  • Current Washington State APRN and RN Licensure
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an unsupervised clinical setting preferred.
  • Anesthesia experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting prefer

Physical Activities and Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and kneel occasionally
  • Ability to assist patients supporting weight, assisting in positioning of patients, etc.
  • Ability to grasp small objects and manipulate medical instruments
  • Ability to reach including reaching overhead and below waist
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently, occasional lifting 25 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Local travel in the region may be required to other locations as needed
Washington Gastroenterology has an excellent compensation and benefit package that includes the following:

All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40 hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances.

This is an Hourly position and the anticipated Compensation is $150 per hour with a 10-hour shift minimum when scheduled.
