Job summary

Proforma Health is seeking a pediatric anesthesia professional to collaborate with surgeons and care teams to deliver safe anesthesia care for children. You will perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, discuss options with families, and provide education and reassurance to patients of varying ages.

The role includes administering diverse anesthesia techniques, monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery, with involvement in teaching and mentoring students and staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field; Doctorate preferred; RN licensure required.
• CRNA certification and BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications required.
• 0–2 years of relevant anesthesia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments, reviewing medical history, labs, and medications.
• Identify potential risks, develop individualized anesthesia plans, and obtain informed consent.
• Administer various anesthesia techniques, including general, regional, local, sedation, spinal, epidural, and nerve blocks.
• Induce and maintain anesthesia during diverse procedures, monitor physiological responses, and adjust levels for safety and comfort.
• Manage post-anesthesia recovery and respond to emergencies, including airway management and resuscitation.
• Educate patients and families on anesthesia processes, risks, recovery, and pain management.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring students and new staff.
