Job summary

VA Sioux Falls Health Care System is recruiting two full-time Nurse Anesthetists to provide anesthesia care across the medical center. The CRNA uses specialized education and clinical nursing skills to administer anesthesia and support perioperative care for Veterans.

Duties include pre-anesthetic evaluations, general/regional/MAC anesthesia, airway management, and collaboration with the Code Blue Team. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package with PTO and federal retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualifications include CRNA certification and current licensure.
• Experience in perioperative anesthesia care is preferred.
• Ability to work within a Whole Health System of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and order required tests.
• Initiate general, regional, or MAC anesthesia techniques.
• Administer fluids, medications, and provide airway management.
• Maintain anesthesia and manage intraoperative recovery.
• Participate in Code Blue and provide emergency airway support.
• Maintain equipment readiness and ensure infection control compliance.
• Serve as a preceptor for student Nurse Anesthetists.
