Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a CRNA to provide anesthesia services for surgical patients and participate in training student nurse anesthetists within a collaborative team.

The role requires current Nebraska CRNA and Nebraska RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a strong background across general, regional anesthesia and IV sedation. Expect on-call duties and strict adherence to OR protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) with 25 years nursing experience required.
• Ability to identify potential situations of abuse required.
• Computer competency to include working with patient information system required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Knowledge of managing age-specific needs of patients from pediatric to geriatric required.
• Knowledge or training in anesthesia care for solid organ transplants (excluding heart and lung) required.
• Capability in Anesthesia Care Team approach required.
• Proficient in general, regional anesthesia and IV sedation required.
• Current CRNA license in Nebraska upon hire date required.
• RN license in Nebraska or compact state required.
• BLS (AHA endorsed, effective 2023 or later) required.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services vital to safety and comfort of surgical patients.
• Participate in training of student nurse anesthetists rotating through the department.
• Follow all operating room, department, and hospital rules and regulations.
• Fully participate in CRNA call assignments.
