Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a dynamic anesthesiology team. This non-exempt hourly position offers diverse cases across a state-of-the-art facility with 13 operating rooms and a robust multidisciplinary team.

The CRNA will provide comprehensive anesthesia care, participate in teaching, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives while enjoying a supportive work environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program required.
• Knowledgeable regarding controlled substance policies in accordance with Federal and State laws required.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and related care from pre-anesthetic prep to post-anesthesia care.
• Assumes responsibility and is accountable for controlled substances per policy and law.
• Assists with teaching and evaluation of CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs.
• Performs in accordance with policies and regulatory standards and ensures informed consent and correct surgical site with staff and surgeon.
• Participate in Quality Improvement processes through documentation, incident reporting, evaluation, and education.
