Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Master’s degree in nursing.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification as a nurse anesthetist.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certification.
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing standards including Patient Bill of Rights and AAAHC regulations.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care for patients served in the center.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and prepare prescribed solutions per procedures.
• Inform physician of patient’s condition during anesthesia.
• Perform pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits.
• Document anesthesia notes in patient records.
• Preanesthesia assessment and order laboratory/diagnostic studies.
• Administer general and regional anesthesia and associated drugs.
• Manage regional anesthesia techniques (subarachnoid, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks, etc.).
• Manage sedation techniques and airway management.
• Oversee cardiopulmonary resuscitation and monitoring.
• Supervise invasive/noninvasive monitoring and postoperative care.
