Job summary

Highmark Health in Pennsylvania seeks a CRNA to provide anesthetic care in the surgical setting, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory standards. The role requires current PA RN licensure or eNLC and NBCRNA CRNA certification, with preferred CRNA experience.

You will work under physician supervision, perform anesthesia management, and contribute to quality improvement and education within the team.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania RN license or eNLC.
• Board-certified CRNA by NBCRNA.
• Experience as CRNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, evaluates, and implements the anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care.
• Provides continuous observation of patients under anesthetic care and corrects abnormal patient responses.
• Participates, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives.
• Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Acts as a clinical resource to interdisciplinary health care team and may mentor staff or students.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides anesthetic care for patients in the surgical setting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assesses, plans, evaluates, and implements the anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care. Provides accurate medical record documentation. (50%)
• Provides continuous observation of patients under anesthetic care and corrects abnormal patient responses. Involves attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the CRNA's knowledge base or scope of practice. (30%)
• Participates, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives. (10%)
• Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Follows appropriate safety standards and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies(5%)
• Acts as a clinical resource to interdisciplinary health care team. May serve as a mentor to new staff or students. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
• Preferred Previous CRNA experience
