The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX is seeking a CRNA to provide MD supervised anesthesia support across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op services. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive perioperative care to meet patient needs in the Department of Anesthesiology.

You will conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, administer anesthesia, manage monitors, and ensure accurate documentation within the EMR system while responding to emergencies and supporting patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Master degree or higher from a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program.
  • Current Texas licensure and CRNA certification.
  • Experience in perioperative anesthesia care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations including medical history and factors affecting anesthesia.
  • Obtain informed consent for anesthesia.
  • Administer anesthetic drugs and manage controlled substances.
  • Select and insert invasive and noninvasive monitoring modalities.
  • Perform point-of-care testing.
  • Plan and initiate general, regional, local and sedation techniques.
  • Respond to emergencies with airway management and resuscitation.
  • Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
  • Maintain detailed anesthetic records in the EMR and other systems.
  • Execute additional duties as needed.

Job Summary

Consistent with Texas Licensure. MD supervised practice. The purpose of this position is to provide CRNA support to meet the patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology. The person is responsible for providing supervised patient care, including anesthesiology pre-op, intra-op, and post-op services.

Job Duties
  • Conducting pre-anesthesia evaluations including but not limited to: assessing patient’s medical history and how it might affect the patient’s response to anesthesia.
  • Obtaining informed consents for anesthesia.
  • Administering anesthetic related drugs and controlled substances.
  • Selecting/inserting both invasive and noninvasive monitoring modalities.
  • Performing point-of-care testing.
  • Planning and initiating anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, local and sedation.
  • Responding to emergency situations using airway management and other techniques.
  • Facilitating emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
  • Keeping detailed anesthetic records in our EMR system and other documentation as indicated.
  • Additional duties as needed.
Salary Range

Commensurate with experience.
