Job summary

Ring & DuChateau Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Critical Infrastructure Manager on a full-time contract to oversee the planning, operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of mission-critical infrastructure and facilities.

You will lead incident response, risk management, vendor coordination, budgeting support, and strategic lifecycle initiatives while coordinating with engineering, operations, security, and leadership to ensure availability and resilience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Facilities Management, Operations, Infrastructure Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing critical infrastructure, facilities, data center operations, utilities, industrial systems, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure operations, maintenance programs, reliability initiatives, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, and operational resilience.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, budgets, service agreements, and infrastructure-related procurement activities.
  • Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, asset management, maintenance management, or operational reporting systems.
  • Ability to make informed decisions during high-pressure situations and operational incidents.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
  • Certifications in project management, facilities management, infrastructure, business continuity, or related disciplines are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, service providers, and vendors to ensure infrastructure services meet operational requirements.
  • Manage multiple infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, expansions, replacements, and modernization initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, service-level objectives, maintenance metrics, and operational reports.
  • Support budget planning, resource allocation, procurement activities, and vendor contract management.
  • Ensure infrastructure operations comply with applicable policies, safety requirements, security standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions following significant incidents or service disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure assets, procedures, maintenance activities, risks, and operational standards.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical direction to infrastructure personnel and project teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, operational readiness, and service delivery.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Infrastructure Manager to join our team on a full-time contract basis. The Critical Infrastructure Manager will oversee the planning, operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of mission-critical infrastructure and facilities. This role will work closely with engineering, operations, security, vendors, and leadership teams to ensure critical systems remain secure, resilient, efficient, and available.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of critical infrastructure systems and facilities.

Develop and implement strategies to improve infrastructure reliability, resilience, capacity, and operational efficiency.

Lead infrastructure planning, maintenance schedules, upgrades, and lifecycle management initiatives.

Monitor the performance and availability of critical systems and coordinate timely responses to incidents and outages.

Develop and maintain emergency response, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident management procedures.

Identify infrastructure risks, vulnerabilities, dependencies, and potential points of failure, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

5+ years of experience managing critical infrastructure, facilities, data center operations, utilities, industrial systems, or other mission-critical environments.

Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure operations, maintenance programs, reliability initiatives, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, and operational resilience.

Experience managing vendors, contractors, budgets, service agreements, and infrastructure-related procurement activities.

Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Compensation & Contract Benefits:

Annual Contract Rate: $125,000 – $170,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, industry expertise, and scope of responsibility.

Schedule: Full-time contract, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Occasional after-hours availability may be required to support critical incidents or infrastructure needs.

Contract Duration: Initial contract assignment with potential for extension or renewal based on business needs, project requirements, and performance.

Flexible Work Options: Depending on operational requirements, certain planning and administrative responsibilities may be performed remotely; on-site availability may be required for critical infrastructure operations.
