Apple Inc. is seeking a Critical Facilities Operations Manager for its Data Center Operations in Prineville, Oregon.

You will lead a team to ensure 24/7 data center reliability, implement safety and compliance programs, and manage capital and operational projects. The role collaborates with Design, Engineering, Procurement, and on-site leadership to optimize facilities performance, reduce downtime, and control budgets while meeting SLAs and SLOs.

Description

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with managers across the Apple Data Center portfolio, including but not limited to Design and Development, Engineering, Capacity Planning, Procurement, Finance, Construction, and local on-site leadership
• Provide direct-report and indirect functional leader oversight that supports Construction, Capital, Operational, and Enhancement Projects. Ensure timelines are met, and scheduling is de-conflicted and prioritized alongside operational and repair activities
• Continuously review and provide constructive input on current processes and policies, initiating change as operational standards evolve, ensuring operational excellence remains at the forefront of personnel safety
• Manage Vendor and Contractor relations during Quarterly and Annual Business reviews, ensuring SOW’s and MSAs meet minimum expectations and compliance standards per the service contract.
• Establish, review, and Drive Operational and Capital Expenses and Procurement meetings to ensure financial obligations, schedules, support, and budgets are managed accordingly and remain on track
• Translate organizational initiatives (SLAs and SLOs) into actionable expectations, guiding Chief Engineers, Supervisors, and SMEs to implement and track key site performance metrics, including but not limited to:
  • Facilities Condition Index
  • NFPA 70B and 70E
  • CMMS Planning, Scheduling, and Completion
  • Break Fix and MTTR
  • Compliance and Safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a data center or similar mission-critical environment
• 10+ years of related experience with a proven record of progressively growing responsibilities in data center and systems management or similar mission-critical environments, with a strong background in standard methodologies in areas such as safety and compliance, infrastructure monitoring, change management, or business continuity/disaster recovery.
• Experience managing hyper-scale data centers or other mission-critical environments with facilities infrastructure of size and complexity commensurate with Apple’s data centers at a strategic level
• Experience managing or contributing to operational and capital budgets alongside experience in vendor management, procurement, or contract administration.
• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end critical infrastructure projects from initial scoping and budgeting through execution and commissioning.
• Ability to ensure 24/7 site integrity and system reliability by enforcing standard processes, maintenance and safety practices, and disaster recovery for a 24×7 critical data center support model. This includes on-call support and emergency response, coordinating with other critical facilities professionals to perform corrective repairs, and executing incident reporting and root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70B and NFPA 70E requirements, with the ability to apply these standards to data center critical infrastructure and safety programs

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of related critical facility management experience with a proven record of progressively growing responsibilities
• Cross-functional collaboration with all departments within the critical data center ecosystem — including EHS, Site Services, Logistics, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Finance — to achieve operational excellence and support overall business objectives
• Experience implementing operational best practices to increase efficiencies, reduce operational expenditures, and promote a safety-first culture for both internal and external employees
• Ability to work well under stress and handle difficult situations
• Strong collaboration, organizational skills, and professional demeanor
