The CFM drives CET performance through hands‑on leadership, technical guidance, and a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. The CFM will lead daily operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, HVAC, fire suppression, etc.) for a hyperscale data center building. The CFM will leverage his or her extensive experience to guide their respective team through all challenging aspects of maintenance in areas such as critical MOP development, testing plans, sparing approaches, capital planning, end‑of‑life replacement and expansion of existing facilities while eliminating risk to our customers and their businesses.

As a key stakeholder in a mission‑critical environment, the Critical Facilities Manager partners with data center operations, construction, reliability engineering, and security teams to ensure alignment with campus goals and customer expectations. This role is ideal for a results‑oriented leader with a strong technical foundation and a proven track record of large‑scale facilities management in critical environments.

  • Manage, train, and develop a team of CETs to ensure operational excellence on preventive/corrective maintenance and repairs for all critical facility equipment.
  • Encourage and foster a team‑oriented environment through real‑time performance feedback and by promoting a high accountability culture.
  • Manage contracted service work at the facility – which requires understanding and developing the scope of service, bidding, awarding, and administering contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA, ISO, Uptime Tier certifications).
  • Serve as an onsite technical resource of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation.
  • Organize administrative functions related to building operations, such as CMMS oversight, forecast and manage facility operations budgets, including utilities, contracts, and capital projects.
  • Plan resources, author or approve Method of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, maintenance and emergency activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk.
  • Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activities.
  • Lead and/or participate in root‑cause analysis activities for equipment located in the building or campus.
  • Provide training to Critical Engineering Technicians and other cross‑functional teams on equipment, systems, procedures, and changes.
  • Provide real‑time feedback on global maintenance strategies and global system design improvements using collected data and observations.
  • Contribute to Environmental Health and Safety program for the campus.
  • Occasional travel for factory witness tests, collaboration, training, etc.
