Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer II for an onsite role in Sterling, VA. This 7-month contract entails supporting facility operations, maintenance, and reliability initiatives within a world-class data center environment.

You will lead on-site technicians, coordinate with IT teams, and drive capacity planning and continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data center/critical facilities, a strong background in electrical/mechanical

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Data Center/critical facilities experience.
  • Electrical or mechanical background with critical infrastructure experience.
  • Hardware controls experience in high-availability environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical/trade/military training or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Data Center Engineering Operations, including risk management, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, vendor management, and operational reporting.
  • Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems including switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, CRAHs, and building monitoring systems.
  • Manage onsite technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all work is performed according to established standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT and business teams to optimize facility safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency while supporting infrastructure projects and capacity planning.
  • Assist with asset and inventory management, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Our client, a leading technology and cloud infrastructure provider, is seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer II to join their team. As a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer II, you will be part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team supporting critical facility operations, infrastructure maintenance, and data center reliability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, leadership skills, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer II

Location: Onsite, Sterling, VA

Duration: 7-Month Contract

Pay Range: $40/hr.

What’s the Job?

What’s Needed?

  • Electrical or mechanical background with experience supporting critical infrastructure systems.
  • Hardware controls experience and understanding of facility operations in high-availability environments.
  • Bachelor's degree, Technical/Trade School degree, Military Technical Training, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
