Job summary

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in electrical field, supporting critical infrastructure in data centers or similar environments.
  • Hands-on operation of generators, switchgear, ATSs, UPS, and distribution equipment with risk and recovery oversight.
  • Vendor management, maintenance coordination, and documentation review in mission-critical settings.
  • Strong documentation and Excel/Office suite proficiency; familiarity with JIRA and ServiceNow.

Join our team

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days)and some work entirely remotely.

This is an in-office position and you'll be expected to work full-time in an office location, and therefore must live within commuting distance from your assigned office. You will work from this office beginning on your first day.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

What you'll get to do...
  • Operate and maintain critical power infrastructure. Monitor, inspect, and troubleshoot the site's critical electrical systems serving server rooms, MDFs, IDFs, and other mission-critical spaces. Apply expert-level knowledge of commercial power distribution, equipment drawings, and one-line diagrams.
  • Respond to incidents and share the 24x7 on-call rotation. Lead fault discovery, root cause analysis, and recovery planning during planned and unplanned events. Support off-hours maintenance, deployments, and coverage.
  • Run projects and manage vendors. Drive projects from concept through commissioning and turnover, including infrastructure upgrades, capacity expansions, and tenant improvements. Oversee vendor maintenance, testing, repair, and installation work against GoDaddy safety and change management requirements.
  • Own operational documentation and purchasing. Write and maintain SOPs, EOPs, MOPs, risk assessments, permits, as-built drawings, and maintenance plans. Track assets, work orders, and corrective actions in JIRA and ServiceNow, and coordinate purchasing and budget input.
  • Lead safety, compliance, and technical mentoring. Administer hot work permitting, SDS, stormwater, SPCC, EPA, hazardous waste, and safety training programs. Mentor teammates and partner with Data Center Operations, Engineering, Networking, Business Continuity, and the Global Operations Center.
Your experience should include...
  • 8+ years in the electrical field, with emphasis on operating, maintaining, and supporting critical electrical infrastructure in a data center or comparable mission-critical environment.
  • Hands-on operation of generators, switchgear, ATSs, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment, along with expert troubleshooting, operational risk assessment, recovery planning, and emergency response.
  • Vendor management, maintenance coordination, technical documentation review, and oversight of work in mission-critical environments.
  • Organizational skills and documentation accuracy, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio; ServiceNow and JIRA; and BMS, electrical power monitoring, fire alarm, generator control, and battery monitoring platforms.
You might also have...
  • Trade school certification, apprenticeship training, military technical training, or equivalent field experience in data center critical facilities, commercial electrical systems, or mission-critical operations.
  • Direct experience with Liebert UPS 600 series and NXL systems, Square D electrical distribution equipment, ASCO transfer switches, and Cummins generators.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, or executing MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, risk assessments, change management documentation, and permits.
  • Experience supporting safety programs, environmental compliance, contractor management, purchasing, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to cross-train on HVAC, fire, BMS, and other data center infrastructure disciplines.
  • Proficiency with Claude, Copilot, and other AI tools for process automation and efficiency.
Systems you'll work with

Generators, switchgear, ATSs, ATOs, STSs, PDUs, UDBs, RPPs, UPS systems, BMS, electrical power monitoring systems, fire alarm systems, ATS controls, generator controls, and battery monitoring systems.

Physical requirements

Moving throughout the facility to access all operational areas, including ascending and descending ladders and stairs, and moves equipment as needed to support operations, inspections, and emergency response activities.

Compensation:

The estimated pay ranges for this role are listed below. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation, which may include a corporate bonus and/or equity awards, subject to the terms of applicable plans and individual eligibility.
