Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Transport Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for all aspects of patient care, before, during, and after transport of Critical Care patients from one department to another. The Transport Registered Nurse must adequately assess the patient and in conjunction with the sending department staff to determine the patient's needs for transport. The Transport Registered Nurse must maintain a high-performance level in quality, service, critical nursing skills and critical thinking. The Transport Registered Nurse must be familiar with and adhere to Regulatory Standards and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital Policies and Procedure.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• All External Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current California RN License
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification
• Exercises excellent observation and sound nursing judgement, excellent oral and written communication; Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• One (1) year nursing experience in Critical Care setting.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Critical Care Transport experience.
• Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
