Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL, seeks an experienced Staff Nurse for the PCCU (Medical ICU) to deliver safe, compassionate care in a high-acuity setting. This full-time role covers a 36-hour week with a 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

shift, including every third weekend and rotating holidays. The ideal candidate holds an Illinois RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, and at least 1 year of inpatient nursing experience, with ADN with BSN within five years if applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN, BSN within five years of start date
• Current Illinois RN license is required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Develops a care plan to achieve expected outcomes and revises diagnoses and interventions as needed
• Performs patient assessment and health data collection with patient, family, and care team
• Communicates plan of care to patient, family, and interdisciplinary team
• Educates patient and family based on learning needs and cultural background
• Collaborates with peers and mentors, delegating tasks as needed
• Provides compassionate support to patients
• Assists with contrast administration, venipuncture, medications, and IV/02 therapy as needed
• Participates in performance improvement and wound/ostomy care updates
• Conducts daily rounds for wound/ostomy care when skilled
• Ensures HIPAA compliance
• Transit of acutely ill patients as needed
