Job summary

Adventure Medics in Bend, Oregon seeks a Critical Care Registered Nurse for our critical care ground transport team. The role involves daily readiness checks, providing critical care during transport, coordinating with medical facilities and Dispatch, and documenting care for medical records.

Expect challenging, fast-paced shifts in varying weather conditions. We offer a 2 days on / 5 days off schedule, opportunities for paid training, and cross-training across event and training divisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in emergency medical services
• Registered Nurse with a current license in the state
• Advanced certifications such as FP-C or CCP-C, CCEMT, CFRN
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience in air medical or critical care transport is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform daily readiness checks and address issues with transport equipment and supplies
• Provide Critical Care emergency services during transport
• Coordinate with medical facilities and Dispatch
• Administer medications and use specialized medical equipment
• Monitor patient's condition and perform life-saving interventions
• Document all care for medical records and QA/QI
• Assist with onboarding and training new hires
• Maintain supplies and equipment readiness for missions
• Ensure safety during patient loading/unloading and transport coordination
• Collaborate with EMTs and Paramedics to ensure mission safety

Starting Pay Rate: $48-$50 per hour DOE

Role and Responsibilities:

• Daily readiness checks and addresses issues with transport equipment and supplies as needed
• Provide Critical Care emergency services during transport
• Coordinate and communicate with medical facilities and Dispatch
• Administer medications and use specialized medical equipment
• Monitor and assess the patient's condition throughout the Transport
• Perform life‑saving interventions when necessary
• Document all care provided during transport for medical records
• Participate in ongoing training and simulation exercises
• Ensure medical equipment and supplies are well‑maintained and stocked
• Assist in patient loading and unloading with safety always a priority
• Work closely with EMT’s and Paramedics to ensure the overall safety of the mission
• Shared administrative duties including but not limited to QA/QI program, Training/FTO program, and protocol auditing and creation
• Community Partner Outreach
• Active role with various internal and external committees and meetings
• Supervision of BLS and ALS providers and documenting performance evaluations
• Assisting with interviewing, onboarding, and training new hires
• Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and partners

Critical Care Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in air medical or critical care transport
• Advanced certifications such as FP-C or CCP-C, CCEMT, CFRN
• Skills in crisis resource management, and ability to intervene in stressful situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with ambulance transport, medical equipment and protocols
• Physical fitness to manage the demands of the job
• Registered Nurse with a current license in the state
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in emergency medical services
• Trauma certification such as PHTLS or ITLS, TNCC, or TPATC
• Ability to work irregular hours and in various weather conditions
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills
• Capability to work in challenging environments and mitigate possible austere medical situations
• Clean driving record
