Job summary

Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, seeks an experienced RN for a 26-bed ICU with Trauma-Neuro and Cardiac units. The role supports 24/7 intensivist coverage and rapid response, with a straight night shift or 8-week days/nights rotation.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, teaching patients and families, and maintaining high-quality, evidence-based care. Onboarding focuses on confidence-building and career growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• RN with a minimum of 3 years’ patient-facing experience at time of hire.
• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program.
• State of Idaho RN or multi-state compact license prior to start.
• ACLS Required; BLS Required.
• BSN or higher preferred; non-BSN must enroll in BSN within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during examinations and procedures; administer medications within RN scope.
• Promote patient independence by teaching patient and family about condition, meds, and self-care.
• Perform a variety of tasks; maintain a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team; ensure regular attendance and meet age-specific needs.
