Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is recruiting multiple Critical Care Registered Nurses to support the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System in Ann Arbor, MI. ICU nursing, patient assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians and charge nurses are core duties.

Multiple shift schedules are available with changes possible per customer direction. Required: current US RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of critical care experience; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the United States.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• One year of recent Critical Care RN experience is required.
• No sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Provides critical care nursing to ICU patients.
• Obtains patient history and pertinent family history.
• Assess patient and plans appropriate nursing care.
• Documents plan of care and care given in patient’s medical record.
• Verifies transcription of Physician orders; no verbal orders are to be accepted.
• Carries out prescribed Physician orders and documents inpatient medical record.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to the Charge Nurse and/or Physician as appropriate.
• Re-assesses patient’s condition and revises plans-of-care based on problems identified.
• Administers medications and IV therapies.
• Possesses knowledge of actions and usual dosages of emergency drugs and their location on the crash cart.
• Assesses and documents patient responses to medications.
• Interprets cardiac rhythms and their implications.
• Initiates life saving measures in emergencies/therapies and procedures as needed.
• Instructs patients and families regarding prescribed medications/therapies.
• Assesses patient/family knowledge level and records understanding.
• Operates defibrillator, EKG machines and cardiac monitors.
• Cares for patients with catheters, arterial lines and ventilators.
• Participates in discharge planning.
• Maintains professional decorum and customer service standards.
