Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an adjunct faculty member for its Schools of Nursing in Tarentum, PA to supervise clinical instruction for nursing students across Pittsburgh-area AHN hospitals. The role is approximately 12 hours per week and combines teaching with mentorship in a clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have current PA RN licensure (or multi-state via eNLC) and prior teaching experience in a nursing education environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical teaching experience
• Current PA RN license or multistate license via eNLC
• Master’s in nursing or to be completed within 5 years of hire

Responsibilities

• Explains clinical teaching strategies on the unit and provides quality instruction to groups and individuals while aligning with course objectives.
• Maintains patient safety and supports quality initiatives in the unit.
• Establishes positive relationships with students, faculty and health-care teams; serves as professional nursing role model.
• Provides leadership and mentoring to peers; offers feedback on clinical practice and curriculum.
• Communicates patient care plans clearly to other providers and demonstrates critical thinking in addressing issues.
