Job summary

MaineGeneral in Augusta, ME is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic care across all ages. You will evaluate, plan, and deliver respiratory care per physician orders, including management of mechanical ventilation and airway support, with coverage in the Emergency Department.

The ideal candidate will hold Maine licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, MBRC RRT certification, and be ready to collaborate with a teaching care team.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners license at hire or already licensed
• Current RRT certification with MBRC is required
• Strong collaboration within a teaching facility and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Assess and administer respiratory care per physician orders including mechanical ventilation and airway management
• Provide care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders across all ages
• Monitor patient response and communicate condition and progress to the care team
• Respond to codes and emergent needs in the Emergency Department
• Educate patients and families about conditions and community resources
• Transport and support critically ill patients for tests and procedures
