Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide safe respiratory care and manage ventilation in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will assess patients, collaborate with physicians, and adjust care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires RRT or CRT credentials, CT licensure, and BLS at a minimum. Additional certifications such as NRP/PALS/ACLS are preferred and may enhance opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
• The candidate must hold RRT or CRT credentials and CT license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• NRP/PALS/ACLS certifications are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care services per physician orders and policies.
• Assess patients and adjust plans of care with the care team.
• Set up, monitor and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation and related devices.
• Administer medications and respond to adverse effects per policy.
• Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis; document results.
• Support NICU setups and participate in bronchoscopy-related activities.
