Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy for adults in the ICU, pediatrics, and med/surg patients under physician supervision. Responsibilities include life support, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, blood gas draws, and related care across units.

Qualified candidates have a 2-year RC program, California RCP license, BLS, and preferably CPFT/RPFT for pulmonary labs. On-call shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as Respiratory Care Practitioner in adult ICU, Pediatrics and Med/Surg.
• Graduate of an approved 2-year Respiratory Care program accredited by RCAB or CoARC.
• California Respiratory Care Practitioner License and BLS.
• CPFT or RPFT certification required for PFT labs; RPTR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide respiratory care to adult ICU, pediatrics, and med/surg patients.
• Perform blood gas analysis and monitor patient responses to therapy.
• Document care in patient records and communicate with the care team.
• Lead or collaborate with the critical care team during rounds and emergencies.
