Job summary

SnapCare in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide intensive respiratory care and facilitate patient transport as medically prescribed. You will evaluate patients, plan treatments, and educate patients on procedures and discharge steps.

Responsibilities include administering ventilatory support, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and airway management. You will document outcomes and collaborate with physicians on therapy effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Must provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as prescribed.
• Ability to evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Explain procedures and discharge education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform physician-prescribed treatments with ventilatory equipment and oxygen delivery.
• Administer medications, humidification, and ventilation as prescribed.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and airway suctioning as required.
• Monitor oxygenation, capnography, and vitals according to policy.
• Perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Perform pulmonary function studies (NIF/VC) as per policy.
• Assist with procedures like bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Provide tracheostomy care including insertion/removal as needed.
• Maintain respiratory therapy records and communicate with physicians on therapy effectiveness.
