The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia seeks a Respiratory Therapist to evaluate, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions in a high-level academic medical center. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to provide evidence-based respiratory care and education.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program.
• 12 months of acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy clinical experience.
• Active RRT license in Virginia with AHA BLS certification; NBRC Specialty Credential expected within 2 years of hire.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Deliver respiratory care therapies and interventions per physician orders and evidence-based protocols.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment based on clinical presentation and response.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation, oxygen delivery systems, and airway support devices.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care team to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment.
• Document care accurately to support continuity, quality, and safety.
