Veterans Health Administration seeks a Critical Care Registered Nurse (SCU) to deliver expert care to acutely ill veterans in the Cardiac/SCU unit. This role emphasizes leadership, adherence to VA care standards, and collaboration across disciplines. Eligible for EDRP, with comprehensive pay and benefits outlined by VA

The RN will participate in policy development, staff mentorship, and continuous professional development while ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a high-stakes environment.

Formación

• Proficient in English writing and speaking
• Graduate of an approved nursing program and licensed as RN
• State license required; temporary-to-permanent appointment possible after bridge program
• Foreign nursing education requires degree equivalency validation
• Applicable VA qualification standards and grade level assessments
• Education levels range from ADN/ Diploma to BSN/MSN/Doctoral depending on line of progression

Responsabilidades

• Provide care for critically ill patients in the SCU and manage complex nursing duties
• Collaborate in development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies and procedures
• Demonstrate leadership and professional development in nursing practice
• Offer formal or informal feedback to peers to improve care quality
• Support colleagues through knowledge sharing to ensure safe care
• Foster a safe, supportive environment for professional growth
• Evaluate outcomes of evidence-based decisions and document program-level results
• Comply with VA guidelines and maintain required licensure and credentials

Educación

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing

Registered Nurse (RN) license

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Master’s in Nursing (MSN) or related field

Nursing education credential evaluation (ICD/foreign equivalency)

Nurse licensure for State of practice
