Sound Physicians in Spokane, WA is seeking a board-certified Physician Assistant to join our critical care team. The role supports two hospitals with intensivists and APPs, offering a collaborative and high-acuity ICU environment.

You will manage mechanical ventilation, participate in bedside procedures, and work closely with daytime intensivists, nurses, and consultants to deliver evidence-based critical care.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified Physician Assistant.
  • 2 years ICU independence with procedure logs.
  • Active Washington license and DEA preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Care for medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac ICU patients with high acuity.
  • Manage mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
  • Collaborate with daytime intensivists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and hospitalists to deliver high-quality critical care.

Local Team Collaboration
  • We are one team of 10 intensivists and 8 APP’s that works across two hospitals: Providence Sacred Heart & Providence Holy Family.
  • Sacred Heart Medical Center is a 628-bed level II trauma center, teaching hospital, and tertiary referral center. We have a 26-bed med/surg ICU and a 28 bed CVICU with MCS, ECMO, and LVAD.
  • EMR: EPIC.
  • Phenomenal team culture and leadership.
Qualifications
  • Board-certified Physician Assistant.
  • 2 years of experience as an independent provider in the ICU (with procedure logs).
  • Active Washington license and DEA preferred.
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting. In this role you will care for a variety of complex critically ill patients and perform bedside ICU procedures.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling
  • Day shifts are 5am-5am and 6am-6pm (block schedule). We collaborate to manage the schedule as equitably as possible, ensuring team members achieve an outstanding work/family life balance.
Key Responsibilities
  • We care for medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac ICU patients. We see diverse cases and high acuity, an ideal environment for those looking to care for all types of critically ill patients and perform ICU procedures.
  • Manage mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
  • The APP works collaboratively with daytime intensivists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and hospitalist team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care services.
