Job summary

Vanderbilt Health's Burn Center in Nashville seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver expert critical care in the Burn ICU. You will manage high‑acuity adult and pediatric patients, collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and therapists, and apply evidence‑based protocols to coordinate care across transitions.

The role includes night shifts, three shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays; required licenses (TN NP/PA) and ACNP/AGACNP certification; prior ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• TN license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner/PA.
• ACNP or AGACNP certified for Nurse Practitioner.
• PA Certification for Physician Assistant.
• Experience in surgical/trauma ICU preferred.
• New Grad PAs must have ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents a health history; performs exams and plans of care with collaboration across primary, acute and complex care.
• Orders, interprets and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostics.
• Forms differential diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribes therapies (pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, surgical) to achieve outcomes.
• Uses evidence‑based protocols in planning and implementing care.
• Initiates referrals and consultations; provides specialty consultation as needed.
• Facilitates transitions between settings (admission, transfer, discharge).
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
