Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse to float across ICU and IMC units, supporting critically ill patients in the Trauma Life Center, Burn ICU, Neurosciences ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality care.

Preferred BSN; six months of nursing experience and 1–2 years ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center are desirable. ACLS within 6 months and BLS/CPR are required for hire.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• Six months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit
• 1-2 years ICU experience at Level 1 Trauma Center Highly Preferred
• RN license in WI or compact state required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification required
• ACLS within 6 months required

Responsibilities

• Float across multiple departments and specialties caring for highly complex, critically ill patients in ICUs and IMC as needed
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care and safely administer nursing interventions and life support therapies
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to delegate tasks and communicate effectively
• Mentor and role-model for nurses and students and participate in quality improvement and Shared Governance
