Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Unit to provide complex patient care guided by unit policies. Responsibilities include assessment, monitoring, and responding to critical changes in patient condition in a high-acuity setting.

The role requires current California RN licensure, ACLS/PALS, and the ability to operate ICU equipment; CCRN is preferred. Two years acute care nursing experience is favored. May involve shift work and on-site duties.

Qualifications

  • Meets skills and abilities of a Registered Nurse.
  • Ability to follow telephone etiquette/standards.
  • Willingness to work as a team player.
  • Safely and effectively uses all equipment necessary to carry out duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assess physiological, psych social, educational, cultural and spiritual needs of patient within specified time frames.
  • Document physical assessments and vital signs in EMR; monitor I&O per orders.
  • Reassess needs every four hours and implement interventions as needed.
  • Monitor vitals, EKG, invasive lines, ventilator patients and pain management equipment.
  • Respond to codes within and outside the unit; ensure safe post-operative care.
