Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a Critical Care/ED Pharmacist with PGY1 or equivalent experience to support codes, emergency medication provision, and comprehensive pharmacy services hospital-wide.

The position is part-time, hourly, providing services across ED and ICU with responsibilities including code management, antibiotic stewardship, tumor dosing, and clinical support to staff. Licensure and certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• Pharmacy license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for same.
• ASHP-accredited residency (1 year) or 4+ years of acute hospital patient care.
• Board Certification or completion within 24 months of hire.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification maintained throughout employment; may complete within 3 months.
• Preceptor with State Board of Pharmacy or complete within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Attends Code Blues including traumatic arrests, provides medications and documents participation.
• Attends Rapid Sequence Intubations and provides necessary medications.
• Attends Code Strokes, reviews patient profile, and makes treatment recommendations.
• Attends Code Sepsis, reviews patient profile, makes antibiotic recommendations.
• Reviews and provides pharmacy services for all STAT orders in the ED and ICU.
• Monitors EPIC verification queue for STAT orders requiring intervention or iVents.
• Performs drug utilization reviews, monitors interactions, supports formulary, and dosing.
• Functions as a clinical resource for hospital staff and ensures documentation accuracy.
• Staff may perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: The Critical Care/ED Pharmacist attends all hospital codes and priority alerts, facilitates emergency medication provision, and works to provide comprehensive pharmacy services for all patients of the hospital and ED.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

• Attends Code Blues including traumatic arrests, provides necessary medications, and documents participation.
• Attends Rapid Sequence Intubations in all areas of hospital and provides necessary medications.
• Attends Code Strokes, reviews patient profile, makes recommendations for treatment, and mixes fibrinolytics if warranted.
• Attends Code Sepsis, reviews patient profile, makes antibiotic recommendations, and mixes necessary medications.
• Reviews and provides comprehensive pharmacy services for all STAT orders in the ED and ICU.
• Monitors EPIC verification queue for all STAT orders and those requiring clinical intervention or iVents.

• Specialty Board Certification or complete within 24 month of hire.
• Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment. May complete within 3 months of hire.
• Preceptor with State Board of Pharmacy or complete within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 year American Society of Health-System Pharmacist (ASHP) accredited residency in critical care or emergency medicine.
