Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP/PA) for the Edward Hospital ICU in Naperville, IL. This full-time position features rotating day/night shifts (7A–7P or 7P–7A), including nights, weekends and holidays, with a sign-on bonus eligible for experienced candidates.

Under physician direction, you will provide critical care, order tests, interpret results, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• Education: Completion of master’s level program in specialty area
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required, ACLS certification required
• Experience: Critical care experience as an APP preferred. Willing to consider new graduate ACNPs with prior critical care experience as an RN

Responsibilities

• Under physician supervision, provides critical care to ICU patients.
• Obtains history, performs exams, orders imaging, labs and diagnostic procedures and interprets results.
• Instructs patients on prescribed regimens and writes progress notes.
• Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate.
• Demonstrates evidence-based practice and participates in standards of practice development.
• Assesses learning needs of patients and families; provides education.
• Provides comprehensive health assessments and formulates differential diagnoses, prescribing treatments under protocol.
• Works autonomously and on interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants.
• Contributes to safety outcomes and high-quality patient experiences.
• Participates in development and evaluation of service-line goals and organizational strategy.
• Adheres to Endeavor Health policies and procedures.
