Job summary

Region is seeking a Crisis Technician for the Crisis Stabilization Unit in Brandon, MS. The role provides essential patient care, hygiene assistance, meal service, and transportation as needed, under supervision of the Program Director and Clinical Directors.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, assisting with meals, supervising monitoring, and supporting daily program activities while using appropriate behavioral management techniques to engage consumers and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid Mississippi Driver's license.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists consumers with hygiene and physical care as needed (e.g., bathing, brushing teeth).
• T turns and positions non-ambulatory consumers and monitors safety.
• Prepares meals, participates in meal service and menu planning.
• Maintains documentation and follows program requirements.
• Provides transportation in a Region 8 vehicle as needed.
• Participates in recreational and social activities and supports daily programs.

CRISIS TECHNICIAN

CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK

The primary responsibilities include assisting consumers in all areas of physical care and assume total responsibility for the hygiene of consumers who are unable to independently perform such tasks. Other duties include assisting with daily program activities, general housekeeping assignments and food preparation and service.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains documentation as evidence that all duties are completed in accordance with program requirements contained in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
• Maintains proper training, continuing education, qualifications, and other certifications required for this position as written in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
• Assists consumers in all areas of physical care and hygiene as needed including but not limited to bathing, shaving and brushing teeth.
• Turns and positions non-ambulatory consumers.
• Maintains required documentation.
• Uses appropriate behavioral management techniques when interacting with consumers.
• Participates in recreational and social activities for patients as needed
• Prepares and participates in instructional training and groups
• Assists with menu and meal preparation, perform food inventory and meal service.
• Provides transportation in a Region 8 vehicle for consumers as needed.
• Assists with intake of new consumers.
• Ensures that all consumers are monitored at all times including meals and snack.
• All other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
