Job summary

Temple Health – Temple University Health System is seeking staff to perform triage and crisis counseling, provide patient and family education, and assist with community referrals and program linkages. The role includes patient registration, insurance validation, and documenting assessments to support a safe, therapeutic environment.

Applicants should have an associate degree and coursework in counseling or related fields; a bachelor’s with relevant coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Bachelor's Degree with course work in counseling, sociology, psychology
• 1 year experience in a Mental Health related role preferred
• 2 years in public or private sector for human services with at least 1 year in direct client contact
• LPN graduating from accredited nursing/vocational school preferred
• Basic Life Support required

Responsibilities

• Performs triage, crisis counseling, patient and family education, referral and linkage to community resources, institutions and programs.
• Participates in registration of patients, validation of insurance coverage and in the collection and documentation of assessment information.
• Assists in monitoring patients to assure a safe and therapeutic environment and assists petitioners in completing an involuntary commitment (302).
